"They grow up so fast."
"Don't blink or she'll be in college!"
"She's growing like a weed!"
"Time flies when you're having fun!"
All true sentiments. And all my excuses for not writing about my Tiny since September. Yep, I'm a slacker! But it's only b/c I've been enjoying time with her and living my life! There is a delicate balance between loving spending time with my daughter and writing about it so we will have those memories for all time. In the end I suppose I choose to enjoy the time, take pictures, and share with the world through quick Twitter posts and texts. I don't want to stop blogging about her, b/c I do enjoy writing! But I'm finding the milestones farther and farther apart and so quick to happen that I forget it would make a good blog!
For example, we had another lost tooth. She's gotten very brave about them and this time asked us to pause our movie so she could go upstairs and pull the tooth herself. (1/15/2016) This is her 5th or 6th tooth gone and the 2nd one she's pulled completely on her own. It's a right of passage, I suppose, to get to that point where you go away with teeth in your mouth and return with a hole in your mouth! So while it's super cool that she gets so excited and readily pulls these wiggly teeth, it's not something that fills an entire blog or even inspires a blog at this point. Ahhhhh...
Halloween is another fun time to blog! But again, posting her pictures at each event is more fun than sitting down and writing a blog about how she created an "old lady" costume and proceeded to win the first costume contest she entered. Although, it is fun to tell you how she creeped out Gigee every time she saw her with her awesome mask on! Honestly, this year was one of the best costume year's she's had:
Probably the only other blog-worthy event was our annual trip to NYC. What's cool about this trip was how excited she was to go do things she remembered doing on previous visits. She wrote a story for school about all of us visiting Santa at Macy's and was super excited to see another play on Broadway. By the way, the story was written before we left but captured our first day in NYC eerily accurately!
(Now you know I can't tell only one short thing about NYC, haha!) Steve wanted to go outside Manhattan and Emer and I are always up for any borough of NYC so we all headed out to Queens to go to the Museum of Moving Images on this trip. Just to share how cool this place is, here is a stop-motion animation video Emer made:
Pretty funny, huh?
And that's the short "quarterly" blog update for now! Perhaps I'll start writing more frequently, but I doubt it. At least I have my photo albums to reflect on, the general public and all Tiny's fans (lol!) have Twitter, facebook, and Google+ to follow her adventures, and Grandma has her annual photo albums to review the years. Just don't blink b/c I'll be blogging about college visits in an effort to help her remember the good and bad points of each college we see before you know it!
